Methodist Healthcare has been recognized as a winner of the Microsoft Health Users Group (HUG) 2013 Innovation Awards.

Methodist Healthcare was recognized with the prestigious HUG Award for development of the Nursing Performance Dashboard, designed to provide current performance metrics to all levels of the nursing staff to improve overall patient care utilizing Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise. As a result of implementing these solutions, Methodist Healthcare acquired the ability to see key clinical care information including patient satisfaction scores, turnover rates, quality indicators and more, in a central location that enabled nursing leadership to make faster decisions based on the most accurate data available.  In the future, action plans can be entered for further follow-up on any areas of concern.

“Methodist Healthcare strives to use information technology in ways that enhance patient care and enhance the productivity of our all of our clinicians,” said Eddie Cuellar, Chief Information Officer, Methodist Healthcare.

“The 2013 Microsoft HUG Innovation Awards recognizes health organizations that are using technology to improve patient care and engagement, streamline processes and boost performance, as well as enable more informed decisions about health,” said Steve Aylward, general manager of U.S. Commercial Health and Life Sciences, Microsoft. “Each of this year’s winners clearly demonstrates a breakthrough in technology and made a significant impact on business processes, costs, and the quality of patient care.”
