Welcome to Methodist Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency Program!

Thank you for your interest in Methodist Healthcare System Graduate Medical Education Residency Program in Colon & Rectal Surgery.

The Colon & Rectal Surgery Residency Program is a year-long Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) approved residency dedicated to the well-rounded education of a colon and rectal resident. The program is based at our Metropolitan Facility and effectively incorporates – academic pursuits, operative and endoscopic skills and clinical patient care.

The goal of this program is to teach competent residents to become especially well versed in the diagnosis and management of diseases and disorders of the colon, rectum and anus. The program is managed under the guidance of Dr. Jaime L. Mayoral, Colon & Rectal Surgery Program Director. The primary teaching responsibilities are with Dr. Mayoral and his faculty, all of whom are board-certified colorectal surgeons actively involved with surgical education and research. This program prepares the fellow to apply for and successfully obtain certification by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
