When you or a loved one is faced with a medical emergency, Methodist Healthcare has specially trained teams ready 24/7 to meet your needs for the treatment of brain injuries, stroke, heart attack, broken bones, respiratory illness and more. With the Methodist AirCare™ helicopter transport service, we can reach out beyond our county to help those in surrounding rural communities. We have specially trained transport teams to care for women with high-risk pregnancies, premature babies, children, adults and seniors.

Our emergency departments include Methodist Hospital and its additional campuses of Metropolitan Methodist Hospital, Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital, Northeast Methodist Hospital, Methodist Heart Hospital, Methodist Texsan Hospital, Metropolitan Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital. Additionally, emergency services are available at Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Hospital at Huebner near Babcock; Methodist Stone Oak Hospital proudly serves north central San Antonio and Bexar County.

Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital specializes in outstanding emergency care for more than just transplant patients. The department provides nurses trained in handling sexual assault cases for survivors age 13 and older. This community service has gained worldwide recognition for its team of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners specially trained by the Texas attorney general’s office to gather evidence from both survivors and perpetrators. The team’s efforts have resulted in more convictions and more prison time for offenders.

Methodist Children’s Hospital has 32 treatment rooms and board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians and experienced staff who care for children as if they were their very own.

Methodist Boerne Emergency Center, a department of Methodist Hospital, has the area’s first 24/7 freestanding emergency center to better meet the needs of those living in Kendall County and beyond. The center has full access to physician specialists in San Antonio and can stabilize and transport patients by ambulance or helicopter when necessary.
