Methodist Hospital

The Women’s Pavilion at Methodist Hospital is newly expanded, renovated and upgraded to ensure you welcome your bundle of joy in the newest and most modern facility in San Antonio. We have a new and easy-to-find entrance to labor and delivery through the Central Tower Lobby. Our 26 private labor/delivery/recovery rooms are outfitted with new home-like furnishings and technology. It’s no wonder more women deliver their babies at Methodist Hospital than any other hospital in San Antonio, welcoming more than 5,000 babies each year! Methodist Hospital also has a newly renovated unit devoted to high-risk pregnancies. We have the largest and most sophisticated Newborn Intensive Care Unit in the region with 78 beds. The unit is certified by UnitedHealthcare as a neonatal center of excellence.

We also have a unit devoted to Women’s Services with specially trained nurses experienced in caring for women undergoing breast surgery, hysterectomy and other gynecological procedures.

Metropolitan Methodist Hospital A Campus of Methodist Hospital

Discover a special birthing experience in downtown San Antonio at the Metropolitan Methodist Women’s Pavilion. It’s the city’s only stand-alone birthing facility dedicated to women’s services and offering new families a comfortable and memorable experience. Opened in 2005, the pavilion boasts all the comforts you would find in a hotel. You will experience a smooth transition from labor & delivery to one of 35 private rooms in the mother-baby unit. These rooms are spacious providing a comfortable setting for your family and friends to welcome your new baby. We welcome nearly 4,000 babies a year at the Metropolitan Methodist Women’s Pavilion. Metropolitan Methodist Hospital recently opened its Breast Care Center to coordinate the care and treatment of women with abnormal mammogram results. This unique center offers a convenient location and physician director dedicated to providing outstanding Women’s Services.

The birthing unit features:

  • a neonatal intensive care unit with experienced staff

Methodist Stone Oak Hospital’s Women Services includes sophisticated, advanced imaging technology and surgical suites to provide a broad range of acute care services. Specially trained surgeons are using the DaVinci® Surgical System to perform minimally invasive hysterectomies, resulting in less blood less, less pain and a faster recovery than traditional hysterectomy procedures.
