Special Deliveries

New moms are experiencing Special Deliveries at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital. Family-centered care, spacious labor and delivery rooms and private postpartum rooms make each family’s experience enjoyable. A labor and delivery nurse will admit you to the unit and perform an initial evaluation. She will also work closely with your attending physician to ensure a safe and healthy delivery. You will be admitted to one of our private delivery suites – everything in the room is designed for you, your baby and your family’s comfort and safety. Each family also receives a free, fully customized Biovideo® DVD capturing the highlights of each newborn’s arrival. A professional team of digital photographers unobtrusively capture precious moments and emotions documenting (discreetly) the birth, mother’s first minutes with the baby and the baby’s introduction to the rest of the family.

  • After your child’s birth and Coordinating with your personal physician, Methodist Stone Oak offers well-baby care and post-partum PKU (phenylketonuria) testing. A simple blood test is used to determine whether the baby has the enzyme needed to use phenylalanine in his or her body. Learn more at http://www.suitedeliverysa.com/

In your months of antepartum care – the months leading up to the birth – you take care of your baby by taking good care of yourself. Good nutrition, stretching, exercise and plenty of rest will help you feel better as your body goes through the miraculous process of birth. Methodist Stone Oak Hospital is available for pre-partum testing as may be advised by your physician.

Delivery

When the day comes, pull up to our main door – a valet will park your car – and come directly to the Women’s Services desk in the lobby. A labor and delivery nurse will admit you to the unit and perform an initial evaluation. She will work closely with your attending physician to ensure a safe and healthy delivery. You will be admitted to one of our private delivery suites – everything in the room is designed for you, your baby and your family’s comfort and safety. If you elect to receive a free Biovideo, a two-person camera crew will discretely record scenes from this historic day.
