About Methodist ER Boerne

Our emergency room (ER) in the Texas Hill Country region provides fast, effective services and lifesaving measures for critical conditions and urgent health needs.

Our expert emergency care services

Our top-notch staff is ready to serve you, your family and your neighbors. Our medical team consists of board-certified emergency medical physicians, radiology and laboratory technicians, on-call specialty physicians and several registered nurses specializing in emergency medical care. Plus, each member of our nursing staff is stroke-certified by the National Institutes of Health, meaning they can administer tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) with a physician's orders.

To provide you with effective treatment, we use on-site diagnostic equipment, such as a 16-slice computerized tomography (CT) scanner, a dedicated X-ray suite, and ultrasound and telemetry equipment. We also use a picture archiving communications system (PACS) to electronically transmit diagnostic images to any Methodist hospital emergency department, so you can experience a seamless follow-up and expert evaluation.

For your convenience, our freestanding ER offers convenient and private bedside registration, 24-hour ultrasound coverage, and direct access to advanced trauma services and resources at Methodist Healthcare facilities.

Our freestanding ER

Methodist ER Boerne is Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Center of Boerne's freestanding ER in South Texas. The 20,560 square-foot, single-floor facility is the first of its kind to offer around-the-clock emergency care services for people of all ages. We offer medical services 24/7.

The building includes 15 private treatment rooms, where we provide a full range of care options, including radiology, telemetry and laboratory (lab) services. There's also two trauma/cardiac care rooms, nine emergency treatment rooms and four fast-track, non-urgent treatment rooms.

Methodist AirCare

Methodist AirCare provides lifesaving emergency transport for adults and children throughout South and Central Texas. Through this program, we can rush an infant to a Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU), transport a high-risk expectant mom or transfer a stroke or heart attack patient from a rural hospital.

Our dedication to our community

We realize the importance of building lasting relationships within the communities we serve and are proud to be involved with several organizations in Boerne.

Community outreach

Several Methodist Healthcare team members have been enrolled in the Boerne Chamber of Commerce "Leadership Boerne" classes to become better acquainted with issues affecting Boerne and the state of Texas.

We also give back to the community by providing valuable diabetes education for public school teachers, participating in several Weihnachts (Christmas) Parades, donating medical equipment to the Boerne High School Athletics Department and sponsoring the Rotary Charity Golf Tournament. We also continue to support Country Mission for Health, Boerne YMCA Youth Athletic Sponsorship Package, Rainbow Senior Center Gala, Boerne Education Foundation's Wild, Wild West Gala and American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Kendall County.

As we change to meet the growing needs of our communities, our commitment has remained the same: to continuously improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

Our mission statement is "Serving Humanity to Honor God." It was true when we first were chartered as a single hospital in 1955 and it will be true for every facet of Methodist Healthcare in the future.

Methodist ER Boerne Scholarship

As technological advances help to extend the life expectancy of Americans, there is a growing need for healthcare professionals in every field, from physicians and nurses to laboratory and radiology technicians. In an effort to meet the healthcare demands of the future, we want to encourage young people to seek careers in healthcare.

We look forward to helping our next generation of healthcare professionals by offering two $1,500 scholarships: one to a student from Boerne High School and another to a student from Boerne-Champion High School. The scholarships are for students who are planning careers in healthcare.
