Ashley Holmstrom, Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital Accepted into National Executive Development Program

San Antonio, Texas…Ashley Holmstrom, DNP, MSN, RN, NE-BC, Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital, has been accepted into the 2019 Class of the HCA Executive Development Program. HCA is one of the nation’s leading providers of healthcare, comprising 178 hospitals and 1,800 sites of care.

The Executive Development Program (EDP) is a 12-month program including virtual and in-person learning sessions, which purposefully prepares leaders for hospital executive roles. The program each year incudes up to 50 participants to expand the pipeline and accelerate the readiness of potential chief financial officers, chief nursing officers and chief operating officers.

The curriculum provides a variety of opportunities for participants to network, gain necessary experiences and increase their exposure to other facilities and divisions. Educational content leverages leadership development best practices by partnering with Harvard Business Publishing.

“We are so proud of Ashley and the role she has already played at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital,” said Greg Seiler, hospital CEO. “Participation in this program is the next step on Ashley’s path to becoming the high performing chief nursing officer that we all know she will be.”

Holmstrom has been with Metropolitan Methodist Hospital for two and one-half years. “She has been a highly visible, transformational leader who provides a supportive environment that allows her team to excel,” said Ulondia Lee, Chief Nursing Officer at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital. “She has led various quality and service initiatives which have resulted in an improvement in patient satisfaction and has mentored frontline staff and leaders that resulted in internal promotions, high employee engagement and low turnover.”
