The Methodist Hospital Metropolitan Weight Loss Center works with patients who need surgical or medical weight loss treatment. Our weight loss center in San Antonio provides access to board-certified physicians and a multidisciplinary team committed to providing holistic support to target obesity. The center is recognized as a Bariatric Center of Excellence with OPTUM-UHC and Aetna, and Blue Distinction Center Facilities with BlueCross BlueShield. It is also accredited by The Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.

Our bariatric surgery program offers the following procedures:

We provide support to patients before, during and after weight loss surgery. We offer:

• Pre-surgical classes
• Bariatric dietitian evaluations
• Pre- and post-surgical dietitian follow ups
• Tailored medical weight loss service by a Registered Dietitian (RD)
• Support groups
• Educational opportunities

In addition, the Weight Loss Center hosts recurring virtual weight loss seminars the fourth Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
