Fetal and Newborn Cardiology
At Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio, we provide cardiac care for the tiniest of patients – including some who haven’t even been born yet.
Fetal cardiology involves the diagnosis and management of your baby's heart defects while still in the womb. Each mother and baby patient is seen by a board-certified pediatric cardiologist with Methodist Children's Heart Institute. Cardiologists read their own echocardiograms to ensure excellence in care. Our pediatric cardiologists have specialty interests that include Echocardiology, fetal diagnosis, interventional procedures, outreach and education.
Pediatric Cardiac Care Conferences
Each patient's case is discussed at weekly Pediatric Cardiac Care Conferences with all pediatric cardiologists, cardiac radiologists and surgeons in attendance to determine the best course of action based on the medical and personal needs of each patient.
Methodist Healthcare features excellent resources to provide healing treatment to mothers and babies at every stage. We also understand that from the very beginning, the mother to baby bond is critical to a newborn’s health. Throughout your time with us at Methodist Children’s Hospital, we work to keep you and your baby comfortable while we provide quality cardiac care.
