As a satellite clinic, patients undergo testing by a multidisciplinary team consisting of a surgeon, a hepatologist, a social worker and a laboratory team. Patients can learn more about the transplant surgery process and guidance for next steps.

Preparing for transplant surgery

Methodist Transplant Institute Laredo Patient Care Center does not perform any surgical procedures. If a patient is cleared for surgery, the procedure will be scheduled at one of the Methodist Healthcare facilities in San Antonio.

After surgery, it is expected for patients to attend all follow-up appointments in San Antonio. Patients are responsible for all their travel and lodging accommodations.
