Ryan Simpson

Chief Executive Officer, Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital

Ryan Simpson was appointed chief executive officer for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital in 2023, bringing with him more than twenty years of hospital leadership experience. He joins Methodist Healthcare after serving as chief executive officer at The Medical Center of Aurora (TMCA) and Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital located within the HCA Healthcare Continental Division for the past four years.

During his tenure as CEO, Simpson made noticeable strides in physician and employee satisfaction, improving physician engagement scores by 25 percentage points, placing TMCA in the 90th percentile as a place to practice medicine. He improved employee engagement scores to 76 percent, representing an eight-percentage point increase. He made great progress advancing quality indicators, reducing hospital-acquired conditions to place TMCA as one of the nation’s Top 100 Hospitals by IBM Watson.

Through Simpson’s leadership, he led unprecedented growth in several service lines, including the integration of Colorado Permanente Medical Group (Kaiser Permanente) into TMCA, seeing a 50 percent increase in same-store admissions. He was also instrumental in the development of a market-wide heart surgery group, resulting in 50 percent surgical growth and 53 percent cardiac cath procedure growth over three years. Additionally, Simpson oversaw the planning and opening of Centennial Hospital, an $80 million inpatient campus expansion to Centennial Medical Plaza, and a 40-bed expansion to the Behavioral Health and Wellness Center for women’s inpatient behavioral health and expanded geriatric psychiatry, representing $10 million in capital investments.

Simpson holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Birmingham Southern College.

Rachel Goldsmith

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Rachel Goldsmith returned to Methodist Hospital in November, 2021 after serving as COO for Methodist Hospital Northeast. Her strengths include both organizational/service line growth as well as employee engagement and relationship-building. During her tenure at Methodist Hospital Northeast, Goldsmith had oversight of the daily operations of all procedural, ancillary and support areas and staff of over 300 full-time employees. She led over $40 million construction projects, including a 30-bed inpatient unit, a hybrid operating suite, an electrophysiology lab, and the vertical addition of 3 parking garage levels, among others. Goldsmith was instrumental in developing a lung nodule program, spearheaded the design and construction of an outpatient surgery department, and implemented the opening of a new free-standing emergency room and plans for a new medical office building (MOB).

Having formerly served as vice president of operations, business development and strategy for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital, Goldsmith advanced the adult and pediatric cardiovascular service line through programmatic development, operational oversight, physician recruitment as well as quality and regulatory management.

Diana H. Henderson

Chief Medical Officer, Methodist Hospital

Diana Henderson, MD, joined Methodist Hospital as chief medical officer (CMO) in late April, 2022 after serving as chief medical officer for Methodist Hospital Metropolitan since 2014. Dr. Henderson has twenty years of clinical experience, having formerly practiced as an ENT surgeon in San Antonio. During this time, she has established herself as a leader in the San Antonio medical community and an innovator in the area of hospital quality.

During her tenure as CMO for Methodist Hospital Metropolitan, Dr. Henderson helped enhance facility pandemic response through a focus on physician communication. She was engaged in targeted quality and patient safety improvement processes, which attributed to the achievement of 11 consecutive A-grade ratings from the Leapfrog Group, including the recognition as Top General Hospital in 2017, one of only three in the state. She also established the first Heart Team preoperative assessment concept, which had a significant positive impact on the care of heart surgery patients for Metropolitan and is now used by all Methodist Hospitals, resulting in equally significant improvement at all facilities.

Sherry Camacho

Chief Nursing Officer, Methodist Hospital

Sherry Camacho was appointed chief nursing officer of Methodist Hospital in 2023. She joins Methodist Hospital after serving as chief nursing officer at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake and Mainland since 2017.

As CNO, Sherry oversaw executive-level leadership and nursing operations on two hospital campuses inclusive of five Intensive Care Units, three Intermediate Care Units, ten plus Med/Surg/Tele Units, Emergency Services, Trauma Services, Women’s Services, NICU Level III & Level II units, Pediatric Services, and all Procedural Service areas.

Sherry is a healthcare professional with a passion for improving the lives of patients and healthcare workers alike while fostering a strong culture that values teamwork and collaboration. Under her leadership, she successfully implemented RN engagement programs that promoted enhanced communication, advancement in practice, and support in overall RN engagement. This resulted in Clear Lake achieving its all-time highest nursing engagement scores and lowest nursing turnover (improved employee engagement score from 83% to 88%, reduced nursing turnover from 42% to 12.8%, and reduced first-year nursing turnover from 34% to 27%). Her nursing career has also been dedicated to creating high-quality, reliable systems of care and developing the next generation of nurses and healthcare professionals. She adopted alternative nursing models to support the nursing agenda (LVN’s, Admission /Discharge Nurses, Meal Break Nurse Pilot, Paramedics ED Support) and successfully mentored and developed seven Associate Chief Nursing Officers, resulting in four promotions to Chief Nursing Officers within HCA.

Sherry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Western Governors University.

Jeff Ardemagni

Chief Financial Officer, Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital

Jeff Ardemagni was appointed chief financial officer of Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital in 2023. He joins Methodist Hospital after serving as chief financial officer at Medical City North Hills since 2018.

Jeff has more than twenty-five years of healthcare experience, joining HCA in 2000, where he has held numerous finance leadership positions. He has previously served as CFO of Medical City Arlington and vice president of finance at Medical City Plano.

During Jeff’s time at Medical City Arlington, he played a significant role in the hospital achieving Level II trauma status, Comprehensive Stroke certification, growth of multiple service lines, and significant campus expansions. Jeff also served as a mentor to various finance leaders and a highly effective executive partner to his colleagues.

Jeff has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Arkansas Little Rock; and a B.S.B.A in Financial Management from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR.
