Located on the second floor of the Methodist Center on Medical Drive at Ewing Halsell, this center contains nine large operating rooms and one gastroenterology endoscopy suite. Medical Center specializes in ear, nose and throat procedures along with gynecology, general surgery, plastic surgery, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, gastrointestinal endoscopy and ophthalmology. The center conveniently and efficiently serves many of the outpatient surgery needs of Methodist Hospital.

Located in the fast-growing Stone Oak community, this center opened in 2002 to serve the outpatient needs of north central Bexar County. This modern, spacious facility has five operating rooms, two gastrointestinal suites and a specialized pain management room. The facility specializes in gynecology, orthopedic, podiatry, general and ophthalmology procedures.

In the early 1990s, the Methodist Heart Hospital was created and became the most preferred provider of heart services in South Texas. In November 2001, the Heart Center evolved into the Methodist Heart Hospital, a campus of Methodist Hospital. Located within Methodist Hospital, Methodist Heart Hospital offers the most comprehensive cardiology services in South Texas. Surveys consistently show that our physicians, nurses and staff are the most respected in the region. Heart patients have full access to comprehensive care should the need arise. In 2008 the Methodist Heart Transplant program was moved to the Methodist Heart Hospital to better serve its patients by providing all specialty cardiac services under one roof.

Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital, home to the Texas Transplant Institute, a department of Methodist Hospital. (Address: 8201 Ewing Halsell Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78229 and Phone: 210-575-8400) , is a full-service facility that is widely acclaimed for its outstanding kidney, liver and pancreas transplant programs. The Texas Transplant Institute made medical history in 2010 by performing the world’s first 16-way kidney donor exchange in three consecutive days in a single center. The kidney transplant program is the largest living donor program in the nation due to the success of its paired exchange kidney program. Other specialty areas at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital include emergency care, psychiatry, bariatric surgery, inpatient rehabilitation and the latest treatments for cancer and incontinence. The facility houses a program with a specially trained team that works with law enforcement officers to provide forensic exams and emergency care for survivors of sexual assault.

Opening in 2004, the hospital primarily focused on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. In late 2010, the Methodist Healthcare System announced plans to purchase Texsan Heart Hospital. The purchase became final January 1, 2011. Over the prior seven-year period, physicians, nurses, medical technicians and professional staff developed an award-winning reputation for providing outstanding cardiovascular care in San Antonio and South Texas. Methodist Texsan Hospital is a 120-bed licensed acute care facility with all private rooms, four operating suites, four cardiac catheterization labs and a cardiovascular emergency department. Methodist Texsan Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission in stroke care and is designated as an accredited Chest Pain Center.
