Methodist Children’s Hospital provides two critical care transport teams, capable of extending our outstanding level of critical care to your patients. A pediatric team and neonatal team are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to perform interfacility transports within Texas and throughout the country. Both teams are comprised of a highly skilled and specially trained transport registered nurse and transport respiratory therapist.

Arrange a Transport

To arrange a neonatal/pediatric/maternal transport, just call our toll-free one call center at (800) 277-7428. They will gather some brief information and connect you with a neonatal, obstetrical or pediatric medical specialist for consultation about patient management in your own facility and/or transport. Some information that will be helpful for us to expedite the transport would be:

  • Referring physician name
  • Contact number
  • Requesting facility/contact number/contact name
  • Patient name/age/weight
  • Reason for transport
  • Pertinent lab/procedures
  • Patient’s primary care physician

For neonatal/maternal transports, please include: Gestational age and delivery type/complications.

The referring physician determines the mode of transport. Factors that may influence this decision can be related to patient acuity, weather and distance.

One Call Center

The one call center is available 24 hours a day to facilitate transfers, administrative approval and transport physician consultation. The one call center is staffed by registered nurses and will coordinate your patient’s transfer.

One call does it all for maternal and neonatal transports!

Call (800) 277-7428 for your maternal transport needs.
