Preparing for surgery

We want to make sure your child is as comfortable as possible during their stay. As you're preparing for your child's surgery, make sure to pack:

  • Comfort items, such as a blanket or stuffed animal
  • Comfortable clothes, pajamas, slippers and socks
  • Music, movies, books and magazines
  • Pictures of friends and family
  • Snacks
  • Toys, video games and board games

Visiting Methodist Children's Hospital

Methodist Children's Hospital is located on the Methodist Hospital campus. The Methodist Children's entrance is next to the main Methodist Hospital entrance.

The pediatric surgery center is on the second floor of the children's tower. You may park in Garage 2 or use our valet service. We recommend arriving two hours prior to your child's scheduled procedure.
