Clinton D. Kotal - Chief Executive Officer

Clint Kotal was appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer for Methodist Hospital | Hill Country in 2023.

Clint brings more than 15 years of healthcare leadership experience to the role, having previously served in executive leadership roles with hospitals and physician practice organizations, including the previous 5 years with Hill Country Memorial Hospital (now Methodist Hospital Hill Country). During his tenure with Hill Country Memorial, the organization consistently achieved high marks in the areas of patient experience, quality performance and market share growth, including receiving Merative 100 Top Hospital honors in 2018 and 2021 and the National Rural Health Association Top 20 Rural Hospital in 2023.

Prior to joining Hill Country Memorial, he served in various progressive leadership roles focused on network and service line growth initiatives, including leading more than $500,000,000 in capital expansion projects serving both ambulatory and acute care patient needs.

Clint completed his undergraduate education at Texas Tech University and earned a Master's in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University.

Maureen Polivka - Chief Nursing Officer

Maureen Polivka leads the nursing and quality teams in the commitment to remarkable healthcare for the community through the development and strengthening of a professional, collaborative and patient-focused practice environment.

With over 30 years of experience, with more than 15 in healthcare leadership, Polivka holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Catholic University and a juris doctorate from George Washington University. She served on the Texas Board of Nursing Task Force on Implications of Growth of Nursing Education Programs and the Texas Action Coalition Rural Health Task Force. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the American Association of Nurse Executives and the Virginia State Bar.

Polikva takes great pride in demonstrating the value of nursing and in developing future nursing leaders through shared governance systems that foster autonomy, empowerment and accountability.

Susan Neves - Chief Financial Officer

Susan Neves has served in the role of Chief Financial Officer for Methodist | Hill Country since 2018 and provides leadership to various teams including Nutrition Services, Accounting and Information Technology.

Susan brings over 30 years of experience providing strategic and operational services as well as short and long-term executive project management. Her work included primary care network development; health system service line structure, strategy and business plan development; medical group operational efficiency and practice economic improvement.

Roger Galindo, MD FACS

Dr. Galindo brings over 28 years of medical experience to the Hill Country and is looking forward to spending time with our team, medical community and residents. Dr. Galindo will be joining us from his current role at the UTRGV School of Medicine where he has served as Assistant Professor at the Department of Surgery and Trauma Medical Director since September 2020, after 22 years of active military service. He and his wife enjoy exploring the outdoors, culinary adventures and the Hill Country culture. They currently reside in Harlingen, Texas and they are looking forward to relocating to the Hill Country.

Dr. Galindo is a distinguished professional with an impressive background in healthcare leadership and patient care. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at St. Mary’s University in 1994 and received his Medical Degree (M.D.) from the University of Texas Houston in 1999. Dr. Galindo completed General Surgery Residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2007 and a Fellowship in Hepaticopancreato Biliary and Advanced Endoscopy at the University of Louisville in 2011.

Additionally, Dr. Galindo is a member of several notable organizations such as the International Hepato-Pancreato Biliary Association (IHPBA), Americas Hepato-Pancreato Biliary Association, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, American Medical Association, San Diego County Medical Society, and the American College of Surgeons.

Methodist Hospital | Hill Country is delighted to welcome Dr. Galindo as our new Chief Medical Officer where he brings a deep understanding of healthcare, a proven track record of clinical excellence, and a vision for the future that aligns with our hospital's mission. We are confident that his expertise will play a pivotal role in advancing our healthcare services.

Emily Mochan, COO

Emily began her career as a cardiac critical care nurse 17 years ago. She joined the HCA family over 13 years ago and has held various clinical and leadership roles. Emily comes to us most recently from The Woman’s Hospital of Texas where she served as the Vice President of Operations. Prior to her role at Woman’s, she served as the Cardiovascular Service Line Administrator responsible for setting the strategic direction of cardiovascular services at CJW Medical Center where she helped launch multiple new services including Advanced Heart Failure/LVAD, TAVR, and MitraClip programs. Emily earned a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Master’s of Nursing Administration from Drexel University, and Master’s of Business Administration from WGU. Emily, her husband and three daughters Samantha (13), Elinor (10), and Zoe (8) love living in the Hill Country and all it has to offer! When not working, Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and yoga.
