We work with you and your family to pair effective treatment options with lifestyle modification recommendations, medication and any necessary surgical procedures. If surgery is needed, we work with Austin Heart cardiac surgeons to ensure the best possible results from surgery.

Interventional cardiology

Interventional cardiology is the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery and vascular disease, heart disease and congenital heart abnormalities, using imaging and catheter-based techniques. When indicated, these procedures are less invasive, offer quicker recovery times and do not require traditional, open surgery.

Our vascular interventional services and treatment include:

• Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR)
• Interventional radiology
• Stenting
• Transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR)
• Vascular angiography

The Methodist Hospital Hill Country Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program works to improve physical strength and education so you can better manage the disease process. We have three medically supervised programs available — cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation and supervised exercise therapy for peripheral artery disease (PAD). Rehabilitation is a critical component of any treatment plan following any of the following conditions:

Cardiac rehabilitation program

• Angina pectoris
• CABG (Heart bypass surgery)
• Heart attack
• Heart failure
• Heart transplant
• Stents
• Valve surgery (repair or replacement)

Pulmonary rehabilitation program

• Bronchiectasis
• Chronic bronchitis
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• Emphysema
• Post-COVID condition
• Pulmonary embolism
• Pulmonary fibrosis

Supervised exercise therapy for PAD

• Circulation issues in extremities

Services are often covered by insurance and are provided at Methodist Hospital |Hill Country Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at 1020 S State Hwy 16. An order from your doctor is required to enroll in the program.
