Diagnostic and laboratory testing helps us identify health issues and further understand your condition. We may collect information from minor procedures, such as biopsies, or by performing blood tests and taking urine samples.

At Methodist Hospital Hill Country, our diagnostic laboratory is fully equipped to provide a wide variety of diagnostic tests. With lab technologists, lab technicians, and phlebotomists, we work tirelessly to ensure that you receive the results you need.

Diagnostic testing we perform
Laboratory services are critical to providing high-quality healthcare, which is why our lab prioritizes quick turnarounds and accurate results. Our lab's services include:
- Blood bank for examining types, screens and cross-matches for compatible blood products, as well as conducting transfusions and infusion therapy
- Microbiology tests to identify and treat infectious diseases, including those caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites
- Urine, blood, tissue, cerebral spinal fluid and other bodily fluid tests
For outpatient services, including blood draws and specimen, drop-off hours are from 7:00am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
We are subject to the standards required by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA) and maintain current CLIA licenses. The lab is also accredited by the College of American Pathologist (CAP).
