Breast cancer services
Your doctor can help you determine the breast cancer screening regimen that’s right for you. At Methodist Hospital Northeast, we offer 3D mammograms (breast tomosynthesis), which may:
- Be better at finding breast cancer early than standard mammograms
- Be the best type of mammogram for dense breasts
- Help reduce the need for follow-up imaging
If tests reveal something suspicious and a biopsy confirms cancer, we offer all types of breast cancer treatments, including multiple breast surgery options, such as lumpectomy, mastectomy and nipple-sparring mastectomy. We also offer combined breast surgery and reconstruction.
Our team provides the guidance and support you need to find the type that’s best for your unique circumstances.
Wondering where to get a mammogram? We can help you find a location near you.
Colorectal cancer services
Colorectal cancer screening offered at Methodist Hospital Northeast may find cancer of the colon or rectum early, when treatment is most likely to be successful. Screening may even help prevent the disease. Most colorectal cancers begin as colorectal polyps. If we find and remove the polyps, we may stop cancer from developing.
Colorectal cancer screening tests we offer include:
- Colonoscopy
- Flexible sigmoidoscopy
- Stool tests
- Virtual colonoscopy
Talk with your doctor to learn which test is best for you and when to begin screening. If cancer is diagnosed, we’re here to help with your cancer fight.
Lung cancer services
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that certain smokers (and former smokers) undergo yearly lung cancer screening with low-dose computed tomography (CT). Those who should be tested include adults between the ages of 50 and 80 who have a 20 pack-year smoking history and currently smoke and those who have quit smoking within the past 15 years. (A 20 pack-year history means you smoke a pack a day for 20 years, or two packs a day for 10 years, etc.)
Methodist Hospital Northeast offers a full range of lung cancer treatments.
