Methodist Children's Hospital appoints new Chief Medical Officer
Rebecca Watson, MD has been appointed as the new Chief Medical Officer for Methodist Children's Hospital and Women's Services.
San Antonio, TX – Methodist Children’s Hospital is excited to announce the appointment of Rebecca Watson, MD, as its new Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Watson, a distinguished healthcare leader and board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, brings more than two decades of experience in clinical practice and medical leadership to the hospital.
A native Texan, Dr. Watson began her medical career in Kerrville, TX, where she practiced adult and pediatric medicine before moving into leadership roles as a Medical Director and Chief of Medicine. Her extensive experience includes serving as National Ambassador Medical Director for Sound Physicians, where she was tasked with leading high-stakes hospital turnarounds, building effective clinical teams, and driving operational improvements in facilities nationwide.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Watson is a certified Lean Black Belt, Certified Patient Experience Professional, and MBTI Certified Coach. She has mentored over 50 physicians and healthcare leaders, facilitated more than 100 quality improvement initiatives, and developed patient care strategies that have significantly improved hospital operations. Known for her ability to bring together diverse groups, Dr. Watson uses evidence-based approaches to implement strategic plans and achieve sustainable results.
