Visitation guidelines

  • All children must be supervised by someone other than the patient. If children are not being supervised, are being disruptive, and or creating an unsafe environment, then they may be asked to leave.
  • Siblings of the new infant are welcome to visit upon transfer to our postpartum care.
  • Siblings are not permitted to stay the night
  • Children under the age of 12 will not be allowed to be unsupervised in the waiting room.
  • Quiet hours are between 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., patients are encouraged to rest and limit visitors

Safe sleep education

Around 3,500 sleep-related deaths occur among babies each year in the U.S., according to the CDC. Safe Sleep practices can help reduce this number significantly. All of our labor and delivery hospitals are Safe Sleep Certified, which means our teams are educated and trained on the Infant Safe Sleep guidelines provided by the American Academy of Pediatrics in order to provide the best possible care for your infant. We provide education to parents and caregivers on the same Safe Sleep practices observed in our facilities.

Postpartum care

Our care for you doesn't stop at labor and delivery. After you give birth, we continue to support you with postpartum care, including counseling services for individuals and couples, support groups and breastfeeding support.

Infertility treatment

Infertility is a difficult experience to navigate. That's why we offer fertility services for patients trying to conceive through our clinic at Methodist Hospital Stone Oak. Our clinic provides egg donors, in vitro fertilization treatments and more.
