Stone Oak appoints Brandon Cohen as new Chief Operating Officer
Cohen most recently served as the Associate Chief Operating Officer for HCA HealthONE Swedish, a 504-bed hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Methodist Hospital Stone Oak is pleased to announce that Brandon Cohen has accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Cohen most recently served as the Associate Chief Operating Officer (ACOO) for HCA HealthONE Swedish, a 504-bed level I trauma hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Cohen joined HCA HealthONE Swedish in February 2023 and led executive oversight for surgical services, interventional radiology, laboratory, the burn and reconstructive service line, imaging, and more. He was instrumental in several major projects, including a $3M sterile processing department expansion, a $22M operating room expansion, and a $76M tower addition. In his role, he partnered closely with quality and nursing departments to improve operational efficiencies and patient outcomes, helping the hospital achieve national awards, such as PINC AI™ 100 Top Hospital and 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospital.
Before his role as ACOO, he served at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital, where he held leadership roles as Executive Resident, Associate Administrator, and Vice President of Operations. In his role as Vice President of Operations, he led the management for plant operations, environmental services, food and nutrition, security, transportation, lab, pharmacy, and other ancillary departments. He drove the growth of numerous service lines, such as general surgery, spine, robotics, and increased procedures in electrophysiology by 50 percent and cath lab by 40 percent. Cohen also spearheaded their $34M inpatient rehab expansion.

Cohen earned his Master of Healthcare Administration and Business Administration from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and certified through the American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Cohen will assume his role as COO effective November 11, 2024.
