Methodist Hospital
October 05, 2022

If driving through the South Texas Medical Center, you will notice a pink glow. October is recognized as breast cancer awareness month and Methodist Hospital, located on Floyd Curl Drive, is illuminating its campus pink, serving as a reminder to women to schedule their regular mammograms.

Breast cancer is most treatable and curable when detected in its earliest stages. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer claims more than 40,000 lives each year, but this number can be reduced with early detection through regular screenings.

The goal of this month-long effort is to raise awareness of the cancer that affects roughly one in eight women. Methodist Hospital is shining a pink spotlight on the importance of early breast cancer detection and is encouraging women to schedule their mammograms today.
