San Antonio, TX – Methodist Hospital | Northeast recently announced the appointment of Dr. Christopher C. Ward, MD, MBA, FACEP, CPE, OStJ, as its new Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

Dr. Ward joins the hospital after serving as CMO at Methodist Hospital | Texsan since September 2022. During his time at Methodist Hospital | Texsan, Dr. Ward had a proven track record of building collaborative partnerships and driving strategic and operational success. This resulted in the hospital ranking #1 in all of HCA for Optimized Care Effectiveness and Efficiency for January 2023 and having the lowest PCI mortality rate within Methodist Healthcare. Under his leadership, he helped to improve the Physician “Excellent” rating for “Place to Practice” from the 57th percentile in 2022 to the 81st percentile 2023.

With a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Ward has over 25 years of board-certified experience in Emergency Medicine. Before joining Methodist Healthcare, he served as Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital, the largest and highest revenue-generating hospital in the Steward Health Care system.

Dr. Ward will assume his new role on November 6.
