San Antonio, TX – In March 2020, Methodist Hospital Stone Oak signed a purchase agreement to acquire Select Rehabilitation Hospital of San Antonio. We are proud to announce our new freestanding facility, Methodist Hospital Stone Oak Rehabilitation Center, is officially open and ready to serve our community’s inpatient rehabilitation needs.

“Select Rehabilitation Hospital of San Antonio has historically done an excellent job of providing inpatient therapy services to help patients return to independence and activities of daily living after an injury. We have a long tradition of partnering with Select to take care of patients in our community. We are so excited this hospital is part of our Methodist family,” said Marc Strode, CEO of Methodist Hospital Stone Oak.

In an effort to further provide the community with a higher continuum of care in a safe and comfortable environment, this state-of-the-art facility better serves our increasing volume of patients needing additional rehabilitation before returning home. With this acquisition, Methodist Hospital Stone Oak’s inpatient rehabilitation capacity is growing from its existing 15 beds on its main campus to 42 beds at the new facility.

As demonstrated across all Methodist Healthcare facilities, Methodist Hospital Stone Oak Rehabilitation Center will continue to uphold the mission of “Serving Humanity to Honor God by providing exceptional and cost-effective health care accessible to all.”
