It is with great pride I share with you our 2019 Methodist Healthcare Nursing Yearbook. It show cases all of the amazing work Methodist nurses perform in our hospitals and in our communities. The listing of incredible highlights we have accomplished as a system should make you all proud to be a Methodist Nurse.

As you read each section, the pages will bring to life the calling of Methodist Healthcare nurses: to be World Class in all we do. The facts, stories and pictures illustrate how we are cultivating an environment where our teams love and support one another, and where our patients feel our compassion from the moment they enter our facilities, until the moment they leave our care.

This environment is driven by our Professional Practice Model (PPM) that provides a framework for how you deliver care every day. It shows how each of you believe, commit, achieve and are empowered to deliver the centerpiece of the model which is compassionate, connected care. This is accomplished by nurses collaborating, communicating and developing professionally in every nursing setting - inpatient, outpatient, procedural and ambulatory.

The PPM also provides an outline for nursing strategies and goals, provides expectations and guidance for optimal outcomes and aligns and integrates nursing practice with Methodist’s mission, vision and values.

It takes great leaders to inspire their teams to live by our PPM. It takes transformational leaders to work with their units to seek continuous improvement to create excellent patient outcomes in addition to compassionate, connected care. Our System not only attracts these exceptional leaders but also cultivates them among our ranks of nurses. We create the most desirable and prestigious system for nurses to make their careers.

It is a great time to be a Methodist Nurse and I am so proud of the efforts that each of you make every day, for every patient, every time with a spirit of compassion and pride. This commitment exemplifies your dedication to our mission of serving humanity to honor God by providing exceptional, cost-effective healthcare, accessible to all.

Sincerely,
Susan Griffin
