Crush the Crisis: Opioid take back day

Crush the Crisis and safely dispose of opioids and other medications at these Methodist Healthcare locations

Drug overdose is a national crisis. In 2019, opioids were involved in 49,860 overdose deaths, accounting for over 70% of drug overdose deaths according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Methodist Healthcare alongside our co-owner, HCA Healthcare, are working together to help to Crush the Crisis, and are asking our community to help by taking part in our Drug Take Back Day.

Drug Take Back Day

Saturday, October 29, 2022
10:00am — 1:00pm

On October 29, three of our neighborhood free standing emergency rooms will work with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and local law enforcement agencies to host drug drop-off collection sites.

We encourage our community to take advantage of this opportunity to safely dispose of prescription and over-the-counter medications. Keeping drugs in the home, especially opioids, can make them vulnerable to misuse, theft or abuse by loved ones and visitors, including children and teens.

Accepted Items:

  • Any over-the-counter and prescribed tablets, capsules, patches, medicated ointments, lotions, or drops, liquid medications (in leak-proof containers), vape cartridges (without batteries) and pet medications

Non-accepted Items:

  • Needles, syringes, lancets, inhalers, and illegal drugs
