About our Very Important Athlete (VIA) Program

A key benefit of the Methodist Sports Medicine program is our Very Important Athlete (VIA) service that provides expedited access to one of Methodist Healthcare's ERs when an athlete has a medical emergency during a sporting event. Working alongside head athletic trainers at various participating schools, the Methodist Sports Medicine athletic trainers coordinate care so that injured athletes can receive prompt evaluation by our ER medial team.
