San Antonio, TX ― Methodist Hospital Texsan has appointed Janelle Lopez as Chief Operating Officer. She joins Methodist Hospital Texsan after serving as Associate Chief Operating Office for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital.

“I am very humbled and excited about the opportunity, and I look forward to working with the Texsan team,” says Janelle Lopez.

Lopez has over 15 years of progressive experience and extensive knowledge within the healthcare field. Prior to joining Methodist Healthcare in 2008, Lopez served our country in the United States Air Force as a medical technician. She has held various leadership roles within the system including Manager, Director and Administrative Director of Ancillary Services at Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant.

Since joining the Methodist Healthcare, Lopez has been a hands-on leader; she has been supportive, innovative and has always ensured hospital operations remained true to their mission statement. During her tenure at Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital, Lopez successfully opened a seven bed Methodist Sleep Lab with an estimated revenue of $2M, expanded the Inpatient Rehab Unit to 24-bed capacity with an average daily census of 22, and built a business case for future expansion for up to 30 beds. During the pandemic, Lopez was instrumental in opening a facility dedicated to COVID-19 patients and assisting with the operations of a vaccination clinic at the Methodist Hospital campus.
