Technology Developed by The Health Collaborative Featured at National Health Literacy Conference

Methodist Healthcare is a proud member of The Health Collaborative.

A project funded by The Health Collaborative is being featured this week in a session at the Institute for Healthcare Advancement’s 14th Annual Health Literacy Conference in Irvine, California.   It is one of the top health literacy conferences in the country.

Entitled “Creating a Technology-Based Health Literacy Toolkit,” the session provides a step-by-step guide for developing a toolkit to address a particular health literacy need, highlighting SA Access, an innovative smart phone app that is being created to help people in San Antonio and Bexar County access and use health insurance.  The app is expected to be operational this fall.

Presenters are Melanie Stone, MPH, MEd; Sara Noble, MA, and Anupama Kapadia, BA, all from the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio.
