The ER at Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan provides expert level care to patients in a family-friendly environment. We have 24 individual treatment rooms to give our patients the privacy they need. We also have a Fast Track ER for patients with minor illnesses or injuries, such as colds, sprains, coughs or cuts that need stitches.

Our specially trained ER and trauma doctors and nurses are equipped to provide emergency care for a full scope of injuries and symptoms. In addition, all of our ER doctors are bilingual. Conditions we provide treatment for include:

- Stomach pain

Heart center accreditation
We are also recognized as an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the American College of Cardiology. This accreditation was given to our hospital because of our commitment to quality outcomes and high standards in heart attack care.
Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan provides human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), sexually transmitted disease (STD) and sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing to patients. HIV-positive patients can expect the same exceptional care we provide to all of our patients as we follow our mission of "Serving Humanity to Honor God."
The Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan ER and Metropolitan Methodist Emergency Center at the Quarry are equipped to provide pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for patients at risk for HIV.
Getting to the ER
Our ER is located inside Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan at 1310 McCullough Ave. in San Antonio, Texas. We offer a parking lot, a parking garage and valet parking. Once you arrive at the ER, please sign in at the front desk and one of our staff members will take you to triage.
