Methodist Hospital Metropolitan is accredited by the American College of Surgeons' National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers for our excellence in breast cancer treatment.
Specialized breast cancer screening
We are proud to offer the MultiCare Platinum stereotactic breast biopsy system. This is when the patient’s breast is slightly compressed and held in a position to ensure the accuracy of the procedure. Images are captured, and special software pinpoints the exact location where the tissue samples are taken. The skin is numbed with a local anesthetic, and a small needle is used to obtain several samples.
We are only one of a few facilities in South Texas that offers conscious sedation stereotactic breast biopsies.
Getting to the oncology unit
We are located on the seventh floor of Methodist Hospital Metropolitan. You may park in one of our parking garages or the lot located right across from the hospital. To book an appointment, please call (210) 757-2350.
