San Antonio, TX — Methodist Healthcare has appointed Michael Beaver, JD, FACHE, as the Chief Executive Officer of Methodist Hospital Stone Oak. Beaver most recently served as Chief Executive Officer at Methodist Hospital Northeast and has over 24 years of leadership experience in the health care industry.

“Michael has epitomized what it means to have a servant’s heart and I can think of no one better suited to lead the physicians and staff of Methodist Hospital Stone Oak into the future of healthcare as they fulfill our sacred mission of Serving Humanity to Honor God, “said Dan Miller, President and CEO of Methodist Healthcare.

Beaver joined Methodist Hospital Northeast in 2014 and has led several significant expansions to support one of the fastest growing areas in the nation. These initiatives include 60 inpatient beds, a 9,000-square-foot emergency department expansion, a hybrid operating room, an electrophysiology lab, a new medical office building with an outpatient surgery center, a parking garage expansion, and three free-standing emergency departments. Under his leadership, the hospital achieved the “Pathways to Excellence” distinction in recognition of the incredible engagement of nursing staff and is only one of two hospitals in San Antonio to receive this honor. Beaver has also long-championed a positive employee culture focused on patient experience, evidenced by the community voting Methodist Hospital Northeast as a San Antonio Express-News “Best Hospital in San Antonio” for an impressive four consecutive years.

Beaver began his career with Methodist Healthcare in 2006, serving as Chief Operating Officer of Methodist Hospital, Methodist Children’s Hospital, and Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant. In 2012, he served as President of St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City before returning to Methodist Healthcare in 2014. Before joining Methodist, he served as the Chief Operating Officer at Meadowcrest Hospital in New Orleans and has a background in health law and healthcare strategic consulting.

“I am honored and thrilled to serve as CEO of Methodist Hospital Stone Oak,” shared Beaver. “I look forward to working alongside the dedicated staff and collaborating with the talented physicians to achieve the hospital’s vision of becoming a world-class healthcare provider. Methodist Hospital Stone Oak is known as a leader of clinical excellence in South Central Texas, and I look forward to elevating that success even further.”

Beaver’s commitment to the community extends beyond hospital walls, having served on the Board of Directors for The Chamber of Schertz, Cibolo, and Selma, as well as Co-Chair of the American Cancer Society’s Cattle Baron’s Gala, and as Adjunct Faculty at Trinity University. He is also a dedicated advocate and strong supporter of several local nonprofits, such as Foxhole Ministries, Randolph Metrocom Rotary, and the Tri-County Chamber.

Beaver assumed his new role today.
