San Antonio, TX ― Methodist Healthcare has appointed Megan Amalakuhan, FACHE, as the Chief Executive Officer of Methodist Hospital | Westover Hills, the System’s response to the record growth concentrated on the west side of San Antonio.
“Megan has demonstrated the exceptional leadership skills and operational expertise required to open a new hospital, housing several acute-care specialties,” said Dan Miller, President and CEO of Methodist Healthcare. “Her guidance will help transform the level of care available to Westover Hills and surrounding communities.”
Amalakuhan most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan where she led year-over-year growth within the cardiovascular service line. She identified, negotiated, and secured a new anesthesia provider group that allowed for a 21% increase in available operating room time, as well as developed and executed multiple capital deployment strategies in surgical services, delivering 10% growth in Q1 2023. Prior to that role, Amalakuhan began her career with Methodist Healthcare in 2015, serving in dual roles as Chief Financial Officer and Operations Lead at Methodist Hospital Texsan.

Methodist Hospital | Westover Hills recently celebrated a milestone having reached the halfway point in its construction. Offering several specialties such as internal medicine, family practice, orthopedic, urology, pulmonology, oncology, radiology, cardiology, and maternal fetal medicine, the acute-care hospital is expected to open in Q4 of next year.
